Whimsical Easter Tablesetting

Winters are long here in PEI so, when Easter arrives, I am ready for some bright and cheerful colors.  This Whimsical Easter Tablesetting is casual and quite simplistic and yet very seasonal and colorful.

A beautiful big bouquet of pink tulips in a white jug and a fashionista Easter Bunny are the focal points of this seasonal tablesetting. Sitting on a cloud of white organza as a base, they are surrounded by hand-painted and découpage Easter eggs and miniature Easter Bunny figurines.

I am a fan of using props I already own and that’s what I have largely done with this tablesetting.

Simple round placemats that match the color of the tulips frame each placesetting. The placemats not only add a splash of color but they ground each placesetting.

This is intended to be a casual tablesetting so I have chosen to mix and match dinnerware using large white dinner plates and salad plates with pink trim to tie the color in with the placemats and the centerpiece. The salad plates are vintage and are Johnson Bros. “Rose Bouquet” Ironstone pattern.

Casual Placesetting

A tiny bird’s nest sits atop each salad plate to add a whimsical element to each placesetting. The birds’ nests were filled with colorful Easter jelly beans s and a tiny chocolate bar.

Placesetting Adornment

I have chosen a very simple way to display the napkins using my Seagull Pewter “Daffodil” napkin rings in keeping with the spring season. Napkin rings are always a great option if you’re not knacky with fancy folds, short on time, or the tablesetting is casual in nature.
