Here is my suggested meal plan for the upcoming week which is Week 7 in our meal planning series. If you want to check out previous weeks’ meal plans, hotlinks to them are included at the end of this posting.
As with previous meal plans I have published, I’ve provided a shopping list of the main ingredients for each recipe that, for the most part, would probably involve a trip to the supermarket for most. However, as always, read each recipe thoroughly and carefully to create your own list as I have not listed what I consider to be “staple” items like regular milk, butter, eggs, flour, sugar, butter/shortening, oil, basic spices, etc.

Special Treat: Cherry Loaf
This flavorful cherry loaf is an easy-to-make moist quick bread that is speckled with colorful maraschino cherries. Perfect with tea or coffee and a great snack to pack in the lunch bag.
Shopping List: Standard baking supplies, maraschino cherries, orange juice
Made with a blend of traditional root vegetables, this silky-smooth soup is very lightly seasoned and is definitely one for the comfort food category! Perfect for those cold winter nights.
Shopping List for the Soup: Chicken stock, garlic, rutabaga, carrots, parsnip, celery, leek, potatoes, shredded cheeses (mozzarella, provolone, parmesan), spices and seasonings, whole milk
Shopping List for the Biscuits: All-purpose flour, oat flour, oat bran cereal
Dessert: Pecan Shortbread Square
Shopping List: Pecans, Shredded Coconut, Icing Sugar
This nostalgic Tuna Noodle Casserole that has been modernized but still remains a classic comfort food dish that is easy to make and full of great flavor. The Beet, Watermelon, and Dragon Fruit Salad is a great side salad to pair with this casserole. With its bright and colorful mix of fruits and vegetables, this refreshing salad complements the casserole well. Great weeknight meal.
Shopping List for the Casserole: Chunky light tuna, egg noodles, mushrooms, sweet pepper, celery, onion, cream of broccoli and cheese soup, sour cream, milk, liquid chicken bouillon, Dijon mustard, cheddar and parmesan cheeses, frozen peas or corn, bread crumbs.
Shopping List for the Salad: Beets, watermelon, dragon fruit, clementines/mandarins, yellow or orange sweet pepper, fresh basil, mint, or dill, red onion, nuts, Feta cheese crumbles. For the vinaigrette: Balsamic vinegar, shallot, olive oil, orange juice, maple syrup, Dijon mustard
Dessert: Leftover Pecan Shortbread Square
Mid-week Treat: Prune and Pistachio Power Balls
Prune and Pistachio Power Balls make a convenient on-the-go portable snack. These little balls of power are also the perfect pre- or post-workout snack.
Shopping List: Dried prunes, quick rolled oats, sunflower butter, pistachios, cocoa, chocolate whey protein powder, green tea matcha powder, maple syrup, coconut oil, puffed quinoa cereal, coconut
Dinner: Rustic Homestyle Beef Stew
Filled with chunks of tender beef and humble vegetables surrounded by a flavorful savory sauce, this oven-cooked Rustic Homestyle Beef Stew is the full meal deal.

Dessert: Hello Dolly Square
A retro 1960s square, the Hello Dolly Square is an ooey-gooey, easy-to-make, irresistible treat packed with baking chips, pecans, and coconut smothered under a cover of sweetened condensed milk.
Shopping List: Sweetened condensed milk, graham wafer crumbs, sweetened shredded coconut, semi-sweet chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, sea salt caramel chips, pecans
Dinner: Sausage, Black Beans, and Pasta Casserole with a side green salad
A hearty meal, this Sausage, Black Beans, and Pasta Casserole is a perfect comfort food meal for the colder months. Casserole freezes well.
Shopping List: Rotini or fusilli pasta, sausage meat, canned black beans, tomato sauce, chicken stock, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, cheese, celery, sweet peppers, mushrooms, grape or cherry tomatoes, frozen corn, French’s Crunch Fried Onion Toppers (optional)
Dessert: Lemon Sponge Pudding
This easy-to-make Lemon Sponge Pudding has a creamy lemon pudding base topped with a light-as-air sponge cake. Can be served warm or chilled and it’s a great finale to any meal.

Dinner: Goat Cheese and Basil Pesto Stuffed Chicken Breasts served with rice or choice of potato (e.g., Duchess or Roasted Potato Stacks are good options)
Packed with flavor, these Goat Cheese and Pesto Stuffed Chicken Breasts take ordinary chicken to a restaurant quality dish.
Shopping List: Boneless skinless chicken breasts, herb and garlic flavored soft goat cheese, red pepper, onion, mushrooms, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, basil pesto, maple syrup, almond meal or almond flour, Herbes de Provence of Italian seasoning
Dessert: Cherry Cheesecake
Easy-to-make no-bake Cherry Cheesecake has a graham wafer base, a creamy filling of whipped topping, cream cheese, and icing sugar, and a topping of canned cherry pie filling (Note that Canned Blueberry Pie Filling can be substituted for the Cherry Pie Filling, if desired)
Shopping List: Cherry pie filling, cream cheese, icing sugar, dessert topping mix, graham wafer crumbs.
Sunday Treat: Baked Eggs with Basil Pesto and Cheese
Serve these seasoned oven-baked eggs with toast points and a favorite jam. If desired, include a bowl of fresh fruit or broiled tomato halves.
Shopping List: Basil Pesto, Parmesan Cheese, Boursin or Feta Cheese
Dinner: Haddock au Gratin with steamed rice and a side vegetable of choice
This Baked Haddock au Gratin dresses up mild white fish fillets with a delectable cream sauce topped with breadcrumbs and cheddar cheese. Serve with rice or choice of potato and side vegetable(s).
