Festive Holiday Tablesetting

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year to create tablesettings. This red and white festive holiday tablesetting features Royal Albert’s “Poinsettia” Bone China dinnerware produced by the company from c.1976-1997. I am fortunate enough to have six placesettings of this pretty china.

As I often do, I start off with a plain white Irish linen tablecloth as my blank canvas. I have opted to use my red and rhinestone charger plates with this china as the red frames this particular dinnerware setting well.

In keeping with the Poinsettia theme, I have created a traditional style centerpiece with the Poinsettias surrounded by seasonal greenery, pinecones, and filler florals.

The napkin fold I have chosen is the simplistic flat envelope fold in a solid red linen fabric edged in white stitching. It holds the red and white color scheme without introducing another pattern.

To tie in with the gold-edged china, I have opted to use gold-colored flatware that adds an air of elegance and sophistication to each placesetting. The two rechargeable lamps that flank the centerpiece are an ideal option to candles and add lovely lighting to the table for evening dining.

Tiny red and white striped gifts with their pretty red velvet bows add a fun and festive flair to each placesetting on the table.

This was a fun tablesetting to create and it certainly adds a brightness and festive element to my dining room at Christmas.
